Discover how Notarize serves a national audience.

Notarize is an online notary public service that operates from the Commonwealth of Virginia – the first state to allow appropriately commissioned notaries public to complete online notarizations for people located worldwide.

Other states provide legal authority for recognition and acceptance of common out-of-state notarizations when validly performed by the notary in accordance with his or her own state’s laws.

Notarize has identified examples of statutes in each state that provide for recognition and acceptance of common out-of-state notarizations. Notarize serves every state except Iowa. Click any state above to learn more.

Supported by Industry

Notarize works with some of the country's leading organizations to offer Americans the ability to notarize their documents online. We're proud to have the National Association of REALTORS as a strategic investor. We're thrilled to call some of the largest title insurance companies and agencies our partners. And, we're honored to call some of the largest lenders our customers.

Passing New Legislation

After a two year effort that's taken us to nearly 40 states, we're honored to have participated in the efforts to pass new legislation in Texas and Nevada to enable their notaries to also perform online notarizations. We'll be opening offices in these states as soon as the laws go into effect in July 2018.

We're proud of the coalition we've built across industries and our collaboration with the local and national chapters of the American Land Title Association and Mortgage Bankers Association to get the issues right for technology vendors, industry and most importantly, consumers. We believe many more states will adopt new laws in 2018 to enable their notaries to also perform online notarizations. We're supporting these efforts across the country.

Setting Standards

As the country's first online notary service and the first platform to complete online mortgage closings, we're proud to collaborate with industry to set the highest standards to govern online notarizations.

Freddie Mac is focused on innovation as a medium to help lenders achieve their goals around efficiency and deliver a better customer experience. We see the digitization of the mortgage process as one way to reduce errors, speed the closing process and offer a complete solution to consumers. Lenders have long sought the digital mortgage, and today the industry takes a big step forward with Notarize's closing of the first ever fully online mortgage with electronic documents. With the vast majority of counties now accommodating eRecording of mortgages and more states adopting electronic notarization, we’re seeing a transformation across the industry. Freddie Mac intends to continue to support the digital mortgage space.
